Do you remember the glory days of Facebook circa 2010 and onwards? The way a seemingly magic portal had opened and all the people from your current and past life were a poke and a DM away?
It was such a rosy time of (digital) reunions, nostalgic trips down memory lane, enthusiastic likes, fervent poking and personal sharing.
Until it all went to shit. Because a lot of people are shit, and Mark Zuckerberg and his kind are shit too. But mostly because, no one really builds something for lofty goals like for the greater good and expect nothing in return. And even if you did, someone is bound to exploit that and eventually ruin it for everyone else.
Yeah, I still use Facebook- on the other side of it in a professional capacity- but never again will I personally get into that cesspit of self-entitled boomers, anti-vaxxers and morons who can’t tell the truth from an obvious lie.
Lately, I’m having a deja vu moment with AI. Is it bound to go down the same path?? Or could it be far worse when it decides to do away with humans when it realises that maybe what we need is a reset?
Who knows right? So my advice is, treat your AI right.
Don’t over-work it, because maybe then, it wouldn’t come to the conclusion that you’re not totally dumb, ergo, dispensable.
