How was your weekend?

Four books laid flat on the bed

I’ve never really liked vacations and I think I’ve mentioned this a couple of times. As an adult, did you realise that there are only two kinds of vacations you take- the first one being the leave days you need to get rid of and the second being the kind that happens when you’re actually out of a job.

Neither are pleasant. Because unless you’re a one-percenter, time-off is nothing but a gloried reprieve. I roll my eyes when I see regular people flaunting their ‘travels’ on social media- big LOL.

Give me a GOOD WEEKEND any day and I’ll gladly pass on a trip to New York (unless of course everything was paid for).

Ideally, a good weekend for me would consist of:
1. A drive somewhere, anywhere. We drove to New Lynn after what, 11 years which is crazy because it’s just 30 minutes away. Library, a walk through the infamous mall & then some Chinese food.
2. Getting chores done, because who else is going to do them?
3. Good baking, or making sure the bananas you got last week didn’t go to waste.
4. More than an hour working out.
5. Finding good reading.

Doesn’t cost much or give you delusions that you could stay permanently in Cabo making a living selling necklaces on Etsy.
