Mid-life crisis? Get a new blog

I actually had to look it up, and at random, a site had a list of 35 signs:

  1. Looking into the mirror and you no longer recognize yourself. (It's more troubling that I still do and I think, is what am I seeing actually me? )
  2. Desiring to quit a good job. (desiring to just quit altogether and write).
  3. Unexplained bouts of depression when doing tasks that used to make you happy. NA
  4. Changing or investigating new religions, churches or new age philosophy. (still say my Hail Marys every night).
  5. Change of habits. Activities which used to bring pleasure now are boring. Unable to complete or concentrate on tasks which used to be easy. (like blogging and reading)
  6. It feels good to get hurt. (don't understand what this means)
  7. Wanting to run away from everything. NA
  8. A desire to get into physical shape. (the desire has never left and I am in shape)
  9. Irritability or unexpected anger. (I'm actually calmer which must be my blood pressure medication).
  10. Change in allergies (hay fever has gotten worse)
  11. Desire for physical -Free Flowing- movement (Running, Biking, Dance, Fast red sports cars, Sky diving, etc). (the most cliched of all- NO)
  12. Exploring new musical tastes. (suddenly liking Taylor fucking Swift? lol NO)
  13. Sudden desire to learn how to play an instrument. (OMG NO lol).
  14. Sudden interest in drawing, painting, writing books or poetry.( it's more of bringing it back)
  15. Shifting sleep patterns (Typically to less). (sleep like a baby though I'd like more, like get to bed at 9)
  16. Thinking about death, wondering about the nature of death. (my dad's death had given me a pragmatic view of it. Sure, you should take of health, but don't be too obsessive- if it happens, it happens).
  17. Changes to the balance of vitamins you take. Or taking dietary supplements for the purposes of extending life. (been taking supplements since I was 30 and have fairly been consistent).
  18. Extreme changes to what you eat. (I wish I could do paleo 24x7 but they don't deliver where I currently live).
  19. Excessively buying new clothes and taking more time to look good. (old news)
  20. Hair changes. (Natural changes in thickness, luster, color or Assisted changes in dying hair suddenly or shaving your head bald) NA
  21. A desire to surround yourself with different settings. (traveling is nice, but it's over-rated)
  22. Hanging out with a different generation as their energy and ideas stimulate you (not deliberately. But younger people have less baggage)
  23. Restarting things, which you dropped 20 years earlier. (can't even remember what I did 20 years ago).
  24. Upset at where society is going. Experience a desire to change the world for the better. (upset that Donald Trump is running for president; upset that Duterte can't seem to make an effort to be slightly diplomatic; upset that it's getting less colder every year).
  25. Feeling trapped or tied down by fiscal responsibilities. NA
  26. Leaving (Mentally or Physically) family or feeling trapped in current family relationships. NA
  27. A desire to teach others or become a healer. (ugh NOPE).
  28. Desiring a simple life. (isn't this what we should all aspire for?)
  29. Excessively looking back to one’s childhood. (never do)
  30. Playing again just to play! (I don't even know what this means)
  31. Keep re-asking yourself: “Where am I going with my life?” (I ask more practical questions like; how do I make more money, or how do I store all the winter knits and woollens I bought this winter?)
  32. Getting fixated on new “wonder” solutions to problems. (Guilty of this. Been buying lotto tickets almost every week and thinking that I when finally get to win some fuck money, I can really say fuck all and fuck mid-life crisis).
  33. Recently experiencing something extremely stressful. (Donald Trump winning the Democratic nomination).
  34. Doing things that get you into trouble when it surprises everyone as being out of character. (doing things out of characters is a waste of time and energy. This is possibly mid-life crisis, not schizophrenia).
  35. Someone unexpectedly exclaims: “You are going through a midlife crisis!” (Leila iMessaged the other day saying she misses having friends to talk to and it's the same for me. I really don't have a social circle- hard to believe but it's true- where someone can point this out). But then maybe it's not.
